The Director of Tribal School Operations at the Muckleshoot Tribal School oversees the daily management of food, facilities, transportation, calendaring, and health and safety services. This role ensures that nutrition programs meet health standards and that transportation services operate efficiently. The director supervises kitchen staff and coordinates with transportation personnel to maintain vehicle safety. They are responsible for vendor contract management related to these services. The position requires compliance with relevant regulations and effective communication with community members. The director plays a crucial role in supporting the school's operational needs.

1. Supervise kitchen staff and school concession personnel to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality daily meal service and effective operation of the student nutrition program.
2. Responsible for MTS sports and activities concessions.
3. Oversee transportation services, ensuring timely, safe, and reliable student and activity transport.
4. Coordinate maintenance and inspection schedules for school vehicles, monitor and support vehicle fleet maintenance and compliance activities, and communicate regularly with transportation personnel to ensure safe and reliable transportation operations.
5. Track and manage food service reimbursements through state and federal systems, maintaining accurate documentation.
6. Manage and review vendor contracts related to food and transportation.
7. Maintain inventory controls for kitchen supplies, equipment, transportation-related resources, and operational materials, while supporting facilities repair and materials management needs.
8. Develop, document, implement, and improve operational policies and procedures for school nutrition and transportation services.
9. Coordinate daily meal service schedules and support special meal needs during events, extracurricular activities, and other school functions.
10. Provide support during food service staffing shortages to ensure uninterrupted service.
11. Ensure all food, transportation, and site operations follow health, safety, compliance, and regulatory guidelines, including annual safety inspections.
12. Conduct staff training on food safety, emergency response, and operational procedures.
13. Address operational issues or delays promptly to minimize disruption.
14. Collaborate with school staff to meet operational needs for educational programs and events.
15. Coordinate transportation for field trips, extracurricular activities, and other school functions.
16. Foster a clean, respectful, and community-focused service environment.
17. Follow all MIT policies and procedures set forth in the Governmental Personnel Policies and Procedures.
18. Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of related experience that includes at least three years of experience in operations management within an educational setting.
• Experience in supervising staff and managing vendor contracts is essential.
• A valid Washington State driver’s license is required at the time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe.

The position also requires visual acuity to assess facility conditions and auditory ability to communicate effectively with staff and community members. Flexibility to work extended hours during school events or emergencies is necessary. Overall, the physical demands are consistent with those of a typical school operations management role.
