Under general supervision, the Family and Provider Activities Specialist (responsible for planning and coordinating events/Trainings for families and providers) of the Muckleshoot CCDF Program.      

1. Plan, coordinate, and implement workshops/trainings for child care providers designed to improve the quality of care, enhance the ability and capability of care to effectively meet the needs of the children/families
2. Plan, coordinate, and implement workshops/trainings/events to build families’ capacity for becoming involved in improving their child’s development and school readiness skills.
3. Develop timelines, logistics plans, and promotional strategies to ensure successful participation.
4. Oversee event setup, facilitation, and post event follow-up activities.
5. Coordinate venue reservations, vendors, presenters, and material needed for events.
6. Develop events that support family involvement in early childhood development and learning.
7. Receives, attends to, interprets, and responds to verbal messages and expresses information to individuals or groups effectively.
8. Creates a monthly newsletter containing pertinent information regarding, children, families, and child care. To include child care topics, health and safety information, upcoming events offered by the CCDF program,
9. Responsible for purchasing, organizing, and distributing, health supplies for child care providers, quarterly learning supplies to support out of school learning for all students.
10. Assist with the development of outreach materials and informational resources for families and providers.
11. Prepare reports on event outcomes and recommendations for improvements.
12. Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.

Required:

• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, human services or a closely related field.
• Three (3) years of combined relevant experience and education may be considered in lieu of the Associate’s degree.
• One(1) year of experience working in Early Learning programs and/or event coordination or community engagement.
• First Aid and CPR certification are required at time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe.

• Develops plans and training programs to improve the quality of child care providers and programs.

• Has knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and practices of early childhood development encompassing infant through school age youth.
• Is up-to-date in early childhood education initiatives, Muckleshoot culture and language, and ongoing monitoring.
• Familiarity with CCDF guidelines and state/Tribal Health and Safety standards for child care providers

Ability to:

• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain filing and tracking systems for large-scale projects.
• High level of accuracy in record-keeping, budgeting for health supplies, and proofreading educational content.

The working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this class.    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to operate, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
