The Muckleshoot Elder In-home Support Services (MEIHSS) Director plans and directs MEIHSS services. MEIHSS Director oversees all parts of program, set budgets and oversees how money is spent. Director regularly communicates with staff, department heads, and members of governing boards. They attend meetings, write reports, and often work with community groups to determine the health needs of the local area. The MEIHSS Director may also develop teaching materials for community health education, in addition to hiring staff, establishing work schedules, and assigning duties to staff.
Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
Required:
• Must be a licensed physician, registered nurse, OR
o Has training and experience in health services administration and at least two (2) years of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or related health program.
• Bachelor’s degree in social science, human services, health administration, geriatrics or related field.
• Three (3) years’ experience providing complex administrative support that includes at least one (1) year experience in social work and/or health care environment.
• Must obtain First Aid, CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens, Oxygen certifications within 6 months of hire
• Food Handler’s permit within 30 days of hire.
• Must maintain valid Washington State Driver’s License, own transportation and valid insurance coverage.
• Experience working with Elders and within a native community.
• Demonstrated ability in or application of organizational/communication skills.
• Ability to deal effectively with high levels of stress.
• Ability to enlist the cooperation of many people in furthering a program.
Preferred:
• Master’s Degree
• Must maintain valid Washington State Driver’s License, own transportation and valid insurance coverage.
• Experience working with Elders and within a native community.
Special Requirements: Must pass a criminal background check, a drug screen and meet all health and immunization requirements.
The MEIHSS Director is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, bend at the waist, kneel, grasp objects with the fingers, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally push/pull up to 10 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to drive a motor vehicle.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus in order to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away and see differences between colors, shades, and brightness. Good hearing in order to hear sounds and recognize the difference between them and focus on one source of sound and ignore others.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
