JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Lead will assist in coordinating and directing the activities of assigned Adult Work Training Program participants. The Lead will assist in providing on the job training, basic skills and work-life skills, while encouraging a strong work ethic and positive morale. This position is open to Muckleshoot Tribal members only.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Leads the activities of assigned individuals of the Adult Work Training Program. 
    1. Must be able to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously.
    2. Work which requires physical activity, including prolonged standing, repetitive bending, and lifting.

  2. Encourages teamwork, cooperation, confirm achievable completion schedules with participants.
  3. Help orient and train new participants.   Impart knowledge with cooperative team that supports teamwork.
  4. Monitors work for adherence to established instruction and work standards.
    1. Relate proactively to others.  
    2. Cooperative relationships with the team and customers.
  5. Interoperates and ensures compliance with Adult Work Training Program standards and Tribal regulatory compliance at all times.  
    1. GP&P procedures, code of conduct and work ethics defined during on-boarding process and documents.
  6. May be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties, such duties may not relate to their regular responsibilities and may include driving.
  7. Able to maintain patient, tolerant, and effective direction and check with direct supervisor prior action associated to discipline or work request adjustments
  8. Maintaining confidentiality of participants/clients information.
  9. Insuring that all participants work in a safe and healthy work environment.
  10. Operate vehicles in a safe manner in accordance with Tribal policies and procedures.
  11. Receive and organize incoming assistance requests, fulfill assistance requests in a timely manner, and establish and adhere to daily work schedules.
  12. Continue to expand processes associated with supervision and assisting participants.
  13. Protect company assets
  14. Implementation of loss prevention.
  15. Organize, maintain, and keeps inventory of all Adult Work Training Program tools/equipment.
  16. Arrives to work in a timely manner and maintains good attendance.
  17. Establishes and maintains positive and professional work relationships.
  18. Because of the Tribe’s commitment to community service and the well being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities, and may include driving.

EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION

Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must be a Muckleshoot Tribal member

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION

Varies, but training/education to be provided to meet basic requirements of job assignment.

 

Knowledge of:

  • English language.
  • Learning and motivation.
  • Safe work practices and correct use of safety equipment.
  • General labor procedures such as: shoveling, trenching, grading, cribbing, sweeping and other cleaning.
  • Pneumatic and hand tools such as: air compressors, sand blasters, steam cleaners, tampers, chainsaws, concrete mixers, water pumps, and other tools.

Skilled In:

  • Office equipment (i.e. computer).
  • Monitoring work of others.
  • Motivational techniques.
  • Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Listening effectively.
  • Observing reactions/interactions of others.
  • Problem solving - evaluating options and implementing solutions.
  • Standard equipment: using power equipment and hand tools.

Ability to:

  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work ethic.
  • Effectively communicate information and ideas, both written and verbal.
  • Prepare daily work reports: absence and accident reports, performance evaluations, and correspondence.
  • Promote and maintain good working relationships.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The working conditions described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this class:  The participant is frequently required to, stand, walk,

balance at the waist, crouch, kneel, twist, use foot controls, and operate motor vehicle. Lift-carry and/or push-pull up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.). Sit, talk, and hear. Use hands to grasp, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level of work environment is usually moderately loud. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally may sit to perform administrative task.
