Under general supervision, provides overall direction, management and supervision for the Muckleshoot Child and Family Services (MCFS) staff. This position is responsible for management tasks and the day-to-day management of MCFS programs, grants, and contracts.
Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, or a related behavioral science discipline from an accredited college or university (an additional five (5) years of management experience in social work field may be accepted in lieu of Bachelor’s degree requirement). Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
Knowledge of: Professional social casework principles, methodology and ethics. Human psychosocial development within the context of the family, community and culture. Techniques for facilitating client motivation to change behavior problems. Social welfare policy. Health and social issues impacting client and community well-being. Systems theory. Risk assessment and decision making. The role of expert representative in both court proceedings and multidisciplinary team service delivery. Current literature on child welfare practices Principles of child development. Skill in: Crisis intervention; Client advocacy; Oral and written communication; Managing a large caseload in an efficient and effective manner; Working cooperatively with groups and individuals; Organizing and prioritizing own work; Budget management.
