JOB SUMMARY

Under direction of the Employment Services Manager, the Human Resources Analyst I performs a variety of technical and professional work in support of the Tribal Administration’s Human Resources functions. This position may be required to work at more than one location.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Partner with HR Business Partners and/or Recruiters to smoothly transition candidates to new hires.
  2. Facilitate the pre-employment process from start to finish, including initiating background checks, drug screens, fingerprints etc.
  3. Ensure all pre-employment items are successfully completed.
  4. Discuss any concerns related to pre-employment items with the appropriate HR Business Partner and/or Recruiter.
  5. May participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection processes and send appropriate correspondence to all applicants in a timely manner.
  6. Maintain open communication with hiring managers throughout the onboarding process.
  7. Partner with hiring managers and Training & Development to coordinate new hire orientations.
  8. Ensure the accurate completion of all new hire paperwork, including W-2s, I-9s, etc.
  9. Complete the onboarding and hiring of new employees.
  10. Maintain applicant tracking system and online recruiting tools.
  11. Evaluate on-boarding experiences and recommend ways to enhance the new hire onboarding process.
  12. Provides administrative support at the HR front desk coverage. Transcribes, types, and proofreads forms, letters, statements, statistical reports and other documentation.
  13. Responds to inquiries about personnel policies and procedures, hiring processes.
  14. Because of the Tribe’s commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time.  Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.

EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION

Required:  

 High School Diploma/GED AND four (4) years of Human Resources, general administrative and/or business office experience.

 OR

 Associate’s degree in related field AND two (2) years of Human Resources, general administrative and/or business office experience.

 

Preferred

PHR Certification preferred.

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION

Skilled in:

  • Creation and preparation of job announcements and advertisements.
  • Use of personal computer (MS Office, Spreadsheets and related software).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of:

  • Current office practices and techniques.
  • Policies and practices of Human Resources administration, classification, compensation and benefits, recruitment, selection, training, and employee relations.

Ability to:

  • Maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Carry out assigned projects independently to their completion.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with applicants, employees, officials, Tribal Members and the general public;

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to operate, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.                      

Licenses or Certifications Required

PHR, SPHR or NNAHRA Certification preferred. A valid Washington State driver’s license is required at time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe.
