Under general supervision this position is responsible for making a wide range of typical house and modular home repairs.

Graduation from high school or GED to be earned by a date determined by the Tribe and 5 (5) years’ experience in home building or general construction, which includes five (5) years’ experience working in trades including general plumbing, carpentry or electrical. Additional Requirements: Valid Washington State Driver’s License
Knowledge of: Home construction and repair including basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, framing, siding, insulation, HVAC, roofing, flooring and landscaping. OSHA/WISHA Safety requirements related to work. Bid specification and contracting processes. Supervisory techniques. General knowledge of building codes and energy codes. Plan and blueprint reading. Skilled in: Operate hand and power tools proficiently to make repairs and improvements. Working cooperatively and courteously with Tribal members, especially Elders. Performing manual labor, including lifting, in a variety of weather conditions. Drafting all types of documents, including letters, reports, work orders, cost estimates and bid specifications. The working conditions described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this class. Work is performed outdoors and in an office setting. Outdoor work is required in the inspection of homes and for repair. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office, hand and power equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear, climb and balance, stoop and crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and high up on roofs. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in the office, and moderate to loud in the field.
