JOB SUMMARY

The Account Receivable Manager is responsible for all accounts receivable, collections, court filings, escrow analysis and mortgage loan forbearances for the housing rental program, mortgage program and consumer loan program. Also responsible for inventory control, housing software updates. Responsible for all payroll deduction and percap payments from all Tribal entities. Reports monthly to the credit bureau on all mortgage and consumer loans.

  1. Performs a wide variety of related accounting tasks such as maintaining ledgers, preparing journal entries, monitoring expenditures, maintaining files and records, preparing year-end accruals.
  2. Gathers, compiles, and prepares financial data, schedules, statements, reports and accompanying explanatory notes.
  3. Reviews and analyzes specific accounting procedures and systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy of processes.
  4. Researches and reconciles all tenant and loan statements
  5. Analyzes reviews and prepares escrow analysis for all mortgage loans
  6. Responsible for Credit bureau monthly reporting.
  7. Approves all new loan for set up in the loan program software
  8. Responsible for all work order charge notification and collection
  9. Responsible for collections for all Housing program accounts-Rental, Mortgage and Consumer loans.
  10. Submits request for all Escrow payouts
  11. Performs day to day staff supervision, consistent with both the Tribe’s and MHA personnel and program policies.
  12. Works Closely with Occupancy department and Loan Department to ensure proper submission of new tenant and borrower information for software input.
  13. Provides information to department managers on financial issues, budgets, reports, etc.
  14. Records property transactions in a fixed asset system: documents and conducts field audits and physical inventories to verify accuracy of listing: reviews and reconciles property inventory records versus actual holding for Tribal agencies.
  15. Responsible for all payroll deductions and percap transfers.
  16. Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.

EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION

Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, business, or a closely related field, (5) years of related experience.
  • Five (5) years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.

 

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION

Skills:

  • Using various automated financial management systems, personal and mainframe computers, Using reconciliation procedures.
  • Oral and written communication.
  • Organization and time management.
  • Problem solving and analysis.
  • Creating computer spreadsheets and word processing documents.
  • Analyzing and interpreting financial reports.
  • Dealing with difficult people and situations.

 

Knowledge:

  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP): Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) Accounting systems and financial transactions.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to walk: use hands to operate, finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls: reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quite.
