Under general supervision, performs administrative duties and provides technical assistance in obtaining funding for student scholarships; ensures the enrollment of Muckleshoot students into Higher Education and Vocational programs, providing support services as needed. The director makes Award Letters and Approves Awards to Muckleshoot Tribal members. The director will work with the Exec. Dir. of Adult and Higher Education to set department vision and strategic planning aligned with the division. The director will lead the Financial Aid office/MIT Scholarship Department in establishing and communicating clear expectations of employees, defining and ensuring high quality and efficient delivery of service, reviewing and refining policy, streamlining internal and external processes, and establishing and maintaining accountability through laser fiche, current data bases such as One Tribe, and, other software and analytics as needed.
The director is responsible for promoting and maintaining ethics, integrity, accuracy, and timeliness in the delivery of financial aid/scholarship, providing comprehensive information and clear policies and procedures for students and their parents/guardians and families to make informed decisions regarding the financing of their education, and clarifying the types of financial assistance to the students.

Knowledge of:
Theories, process and practices relating to community college, universities, and vocational programs;
Development of creative and effective workshops on Financial Aid and enrollment process;
Effective organizational skills in management, including successful program planning;
Native American people and cultural customs;
Working with budgets;
Working in a Banking or Mortgage Loan processing environment;
Expert knowledge of State and Federal Loan compliance criteria.
Skill/Experience:
Developing documentation of technical and non-technical audiences and preparing training materials for users;
Using productivity tools to convey ideas;
Oral and written communications.
