Under supervision of the Youth Development Program Manager and Youth Development Shift Supervisor, the Lead Activity Coordinator will assist in supervising YDP Staff, planning and organizing activities and field trips. Oversee the Youth Development Program’s daily operations to provide Muckleshoot Youth age appropriate activities with a focus on leadership, life skills, and sensitive topic awareness.
Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Three (3) years’ experience in managerial/supervising youth and eight (8) years’ experience coordinating activities for youth.
Preferred: Some college-level education, preferably with coursework in early childhood education. Valid and current S.T.A.R.S. certification and food handlers permit. Experience working with Native Americans and/or within a Tribal community. Experience with providing culturally competent support aimed at opening pathways for individuals towards education and self-sufficiency. Experience working with youth who have life challenges.
Skilled in: Supervisory techniques and practices; proven team building ability; managing, assigning, coordinating, and monitoring the work of professional, teaching, and support staff. Complies with Personnel Policies and Procedures; organize, prioritize and assign work, also to monitor work progress; complies with Risk Management techniques and principles.
Knowledge of: Youth services programming techniques and practices; youth programs; Designing and implementing programs for youth having a wide range of achievement; Dealing with youth in a positive and confident manner; Participates in related Youth Development Program field trips, and other activities. Basic marketing techniques and principles, as they relate to the Youth Development Program. Knowledge of American Indian culture and history.
