JOB SUMMARY

The Gaming Inspector primarily performs in-person or Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) monitoring of gaming operations Soft Count and Drop Processes. They are also responsible for documenting the observations, maintaining records from observations and responding to other calls for service within their responsibilities.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Observes, in person or via CCTV, the Casino/Bingo drop and soft count processes from their commencement until completion.
  1. Assures that the drop and count is conducted in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures; makes appropriate written entries or reports in the Surveillance Daily log or other provided methods. Must meet tribal, state and federal regulations.
  1. Upon request, for audit purposes or in the event of suspicious activity, conducts CCTV reviews of drop and count processes. Helps translate and interpret all applicable policy, procedure and other controls to the requestor.
  1. Communicates with internal departments and TGA management in verbal or written form to share violations by drop and count teams.
  1. Operates communication tools to dispatch/advise Enforcement Agents and/or gaming operations personnel on any drop and count related tasks.
  1. Performs physical inspection audits or audits via CCTV of certain types of gaming or gaming related activities including inventories of gaming tables, certain gaming devices, and specific gaming areas related to the inspector responsibilities.
  1. Prepares and maintains all necessary records, documents and files; performs data entry, edits documents, updates paperwork due to gaming changes and signs for receipt of any required documents.
  1. May perform in-person observations of TGA controlled items and/or projects within the Casino/Bingo properties.
  1. Reports any malfunctions of CCTV equipment to Surveillance Technicians.
  1. Because of the Tribe’s commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.

EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION

Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Two (2) or more years of soft count, cage cashier, or financial compliance related gaming experience. An Associate’s Degree may be substituted for the work experience.

 

Special Requirements: Incumbents must be at least 21 years of age; be able to pass a background investigation; meet the criteria for a gaming license and pass a drug and alcohol test.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this class. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand for extended periods of time; talk and hear. They must be able to distinguish between variable audio sources.  The employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to operate, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work environment is typically in an enclosed space for long periods of time with sporadic break periods; at times performed within a smoking environment; exposure to cool temperatures.  Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to watch computer/television monitors in varying light conditions and the ability to adjust focus.   The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.

Licenses or Certifications Required

A current and valid Washington State driver’s license is required at time of appointment or at a time set by the tribe.
