JOB SUMMARY

Effectively utilizes treatment technologies and modalities to provide daily patient care and treatment in accordance with policies and procedures at the MindCare Clinic.  Manages patient needs in a therapeutic setting and assists with developing individualized care and maximizing clinical outcomes. 

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide appropriate ongoing treatment to children and adult patients consistent with treatment needs
  1. Utilize full range of treatment modalities and technologies completely and accurately.
  1. Function as a member of a team including strong collaboration and communication skills as well as attendance in meetings as requested.
  1. Demonstrate appropriate therapeutic skills to meet a diversity of client needs.
  1. Remain in accordance with equipment use, health and safety practices, and programmatic policies and procedures.
  1. Complete comprehensive and thorough treatment documentation in accordance with requirements.
  1. Implement quality assurance tools provided to monitor quality of care on a regular basis.
  1. Report all safety concerns and incidents immediately to supervisor.
  1. Assist supervisor with program activities, events, and development of MindCare Clinic program.
  1. Attend mandatory and/or approved training.
  1. Because of the Tribe’s commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.

EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Science or related field of study
  • Minimum of (1) year clinical experience in transcranial electrical stimulation/neurofeedback in an outpatient setting with children and adults. 

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a Tribal setting.

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION

Knowledge of:

  • HIPAA laws/regulations with regard to protected health information (PHI).
  • Code of ethics.
  • Confidentiality and privacy principles.
  • Federal, State, local and agency regulations for providing transcranial electrical stimulation/neurofeedback (per the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance).

Skilled in:

  • Using therapeutic skills to facilitate patient access, utilization, and ongoing engagement in services.
  • Identifying and implementing individualized treatment planning for each patient.
  • Maintaining proper boundaries, providing support, empathy and encouragement as needed.
  • Accurate, timely and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication with patients, supervisor, staff, and other departments.
  • Submitting documentation in a timely manner, showing legibility and attention to detail.
  • Working cooperatively with team members and other staff.
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Problem solving and decision making, including resourcefulness, plan development and effectiveness evaluation.
  • Crisis prevention and intervention.
  • Operating a personal computer, including applicable software and office equipment.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and complying with HIPAA and other applicable laws, ordinances and regulations.

Ability to:

  • Listen and provide feedback and support to patients in need, offering or referring for appropriate guidance and therapeutic intervention.
  • Learn and continue to gain experience and training in neurofeedback and transcranial electric stimulation.
  • Multi-task to provide and monitor treatment to clients.
  • Meet schedule requirements and work deadlines.
  • Be reliable and consistent in attendance, punctuality, work ethic and professionalism.
  • Promote a positive work environment for staff and patients.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Job duties regularly require employee to walk, see, speak, and hear; use manual dexterity including, fingers and hands to operate equipment, controls, computer work and handwriting. Occasionally bends at the waist, twists, reaches with arms.

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasionally lifts and/or carries up to 20 lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.  

Licenses or Certifications Required

A current and valid Washington State Driver’s license is required.
