This position takes the lead role in outreach and services for Head Start families, including recruitment and enrollment of eligible children, working with families to find services within the program and community to meet the needs of the family and supports the coordination of family activities. Maintains daily child attendance records and supports families to maintain good attendance.
Work assignments are procedurally complex and require considerable expertise in the assigned function area. Work is performed under minimal supervision and confidentiality is exercised. Duties require a broad understanding of the Head Start Program Performance Standards and MELA Standards of Practice. Works closely with MELA Managing Director and ECE Division Director to ensure proper implementation of Policy Council/Executive Committee for Education approved Head Start Eligibility points.
Required: Associates of Art Degree or two-year college certification. Five (5) years of general office practice; five (5) years of administrative and/or supervisory/managerial experience.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Special Requirements: Incumbent must pass a criminal background check, a drug screen and meet all health and immunization requirements required by federal, state or Tribal laws and regulations.

History of the Muckleshoot Tribe, genealogy, and family relationships and be able to convey this information to others when requested.

Plan, organize and direct the function and staff of a large sized organization. Must be a team player in a fast paced environment.
Communicate effectively with a broad diversity of individuals, both verbally and in writing.
Multi-task and able to meet tight deadlines.
Provide assistance to staff working on difficult assignments
Provide specialized/technical information to leadership staff
Tracking and reporting attendance
Assist in monitoring confidential, sensitive situations at MELA
Collaborate and support other ECE programs in the Early Childhood Education Division
Provide training.
Conduct research on specific work assignment.
