This position is an advocate for clients in the application process for benefits under the Social Services Administration Social Security Insurance (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) programs. The primary responsibility for this position is to ensure that all clients who are eligible for alternate resources are identified, contacted and assisted with applying for and maintaining eligibility for available benefits. This position will work with all applicable State and Federal systems to apply for coverage and works one-on-one to provide screening for eligibility, recommendations for alternate resources and to provide outreach and education to the community regarding the program. 

This position is primarily responsible for coverage in the Wellness Center Café, Wellness Center Childcare and Pool. This position will also provide customer service, information and assistance to customers of the Health and Wellness Center.

Under the general supervision of the Athletic Coordinator and Tribal School Principal, the Head Coach, will lead the Team, guiding the development of skills, strategies/tactics, and values for each grade level consistent with The Muckleshoot Tribal School mission and values, teaching/training JV program coaches as needed for program alignment.

Under general supervision, teaches and instructs pre-school children in a curriculum of pre-academic social, adaptive, communication, and motor skills.

Under administrative direction of the Muckleshoot Tribal School Principal, this position provides educational and student development leadership for the Tribal School; plans, organizes and evaluates programs and services and promotes communication with students, parents, staff and the community for educational effectiveness.

Under general supervision, teaches and instructs pupils in culturally appropriate academic, social, behavioral and other educational skill areas; counsels, disciplines and supervises to meet the individual needs of assigned students; evaluates student performance and progress as required for state and federal accountability.

Under supervision, performs paraprofessional-level health care duties in the Tribe’s Health Clinic.

This position participates with government agencies on the remediation of contaminated sites in rivers and bays and natural resources damages activities associated with these sites within the Tribe’s Usual and Accustomed Fishing Area. This area includes, but it is not limited to, the greater Seattle area, the Lake Washington/Cedar River, the White/Puyallup River, and the Green River watersheds, located within the Puget Sound region. In addition, this position evaluates potential impacts of instream projects, fish passage projects, utility projects, and residential or commercial development on anadromous salmonids, other fishery/shellfish resources, and/or their habitat within the Tribe’s Usual and Accustomed Fishing Area.  This position provides comments to and coordinates with other government agencies on these projects to protect fish and/or habitat and to ensure that applicable regulations are properly applied and implemented.

Under supervision, assists in the supervision and instruction of children with special needs, disabilities or delays; observing and documenting student progress; implementing plans for instruction; and providing clerical support to teachers and therapists.

Through its federally-reserved treaty rights, the Muckleshoot Tribe is a co-manager of salmon, steelhead, and other fisheries resources within the Tribe’s Usual and Accustomed Fishing Area, which includes the Lake Washington/Cedar River, the White/Puyallup River, and the Green/Duwamish River watersheds.  This position evaluates potential impacts and strategies to minimize impacts of water management plans, water rights applications, stormwater management proposals, and residential, commercial, municipal, state, or federal projects on anadromous salmonids, other fishery/shellfish resources, and/or their habitat within these watersheds. This position also assists in negotiating and implementing existing agreements on water management regimes in these watersheds.

This position requires professional skills and abilities to protect surface and ground water quality collaboratively with a team of scientists within the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe’s Fisheries Division. Through its federally-reserved treaty rights, the Muckleshoot Tribe is a co-manager of anadromous salmonids, other fishery/shellfish resources, and/or their habitat within the Tribe’s Usual and Accustomed Fishing Area, which includes, but is not limited to, the Lake Washington/Cedar River, the White/Puyallup River, and the Green/Duwamish River watersheds, located in the Puget Sound region. Under general supervision, this position performs professional and technical work in environmental assessments, including implementation of sampling designs, development of methods and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) measures, and data analysis across a variety of environments in order to make recommendations regarding the impacts of proposed actions on the Tribe’s Usual and Accustomed Fishing Area. Evaluates and provides recommendations to local governments and other agencies on surface water quality assessments, clean-up plans, and pollution reduction strategies.   This position supervises and coordinates the performance of professional, technical and administrative work of the Water Team within Fisheries and provides technical guidance and assistance on water quality assessment, clean-up plans, and water resources issues to the Fish Habitat Protection Assistant Director.

Under general supervision, provides professional speech, language and hearing services to students at the Muckleshoot Tribal School.

The Placement coordinator is responsible for all placement coordination efforts for Muckleshoot children in need of placement through the Muckleshoot Children and Families Services (MCFS) program. This position serves the Muckleshoot Children and Families Services program as a whole. This position will work collaboratively with the MCFS Foster Home Licensor in assisting recruitment of foster placement within the Muckleshoot community.

This position is responsible for receiving, screening, evaluating, and investigating reports or incoming calls of concern and response times of all reported allegations of child abuse, neglect, self-neglect, abandonment, and/or exploitation reported to MCFS or incoming from CPS; serves as a prevention outreach advocate; performs related work as required.
