  • JOB SUMMARY

    Under general supervision, performs technical work monitoring on-site operations of gaming related activities for the Tribal Gaming Commission.  

    MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Observes the Casino/Bingo soft count teams for which duration of shift may be 10 hours or more.  Monitors soft count gaming related operations; assures that the count process is not obstructed from view at any time.
    2. Assures that the count is conducted in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures; makes appropriate entries in the Inspector Adjustment Log.
    3. Notifies Soft Count Team member of violation of procedure and, if warranted, notes violation in Inspector Adjustment Log and notifies Surveillance and Inspector Manager.
    4. Performs inspection audits of certain types of gaming or gaming related activities including table inventory slips, card and dice inventory control, key control log, payroll, Class III vendors and Casino chip reconciliation.
    5. Prepares and maintains all necessary records, documents and files; performs data entry, edits documents, updates paperwork due to gaming changes.
    6. Assists other divisions in the performance of special investigations relating to audit or accounting concerns.  May assist Enforcement with Casino or Bingo gaming drops, RAM clear, 10 coin, and Bingo box reset.
    7. Because of the Tribe’s commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.

    EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION

    Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Two (2) or more years of soft count, cage cashier, or related gaming experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the functions of the job and one (1) year of business work experience is required. 

     

    Special Requirements: Incumbents must be able to pass a background investigation; meet the criteria for a gaming license and pass a drug and alcohol test.

    SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION

    Skill in: Basic math, using a computer, ten-key calculator, and standard office equipment; effective communication, both verbally and in writing; observing and monitoring the work of others; listening; time management; problem solving.

     

    Knowledge of: General office principles and practices; gaming practices; , applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures relating to gaming operations and equipment, record keeping practices and procedures.

     

    Ability to: Maintain confidentiality, follow oral and written instructions, establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, conduct inspections, prepare a variety of reports, work varying shifts (which may include holiday, weekends, and inclement weather), arrive to work on time as scheduled.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this class. 

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand for extended periods of time; talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to operate, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work environment is typically in an enclosed space for long periods of time with sporadic break periods to exit enclosure for security reasons; performed within a smoking environment; exposure to cool temperatures.  Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.   The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.

    Licenses or Certifications Required

    A current and valid Washington State driver’s license is required at time of appointment or at a time set by the tribe.
